Do You Know Your Need?

by frazzledmama on September 26, 2015

Last week a dear soul walked into eternity.  I am certain that she had no idea that Wednesday would be her last few moments of life here on this Earth.

The morning that Aunt Chris walked into eternity, she liked a photo that I shared on Facebook.

Oh such truth!  And to think, Aunt Chris met Christ a mere few hours later.  Her passing has reminded me that we are not promised time here on this Earth.  It reminded me to be more patient with my children, family members, and even strangers…. Because, no one is promised tomorrow.  I don’t have a guarantee that I will hug them one last time.

You know what else I don’t know?  I don’t know if you know where you are going when you die.  We are all going to face that day, some sooner than others. And my question for you, dear reader is, do you know what will happen to your eternal soul when you die?  Do you have assurance of where you will spend eternity?

The Bible tells us that all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. ( Romans 3:23)

It also tells us that the wages or the outcome of sin is death. Eternal death separated from God. (Romans 6:23)

But then GOD…He demonstrated His own love for us that WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US!  (Romans 5:8)  How many people do you know who send a pardon for you while you were still in the ACT of breaking the law?

But, praise the Lord, if we confess with our mouth and believe with our heart that Jesus died for our sins, we will be SAVED…we will get to spend an eternity with the one who loved us more than we can comprehend. (Romans 10:9)

Jesus will not turn you away. His word tells us that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  (Romans 10:13)  It doesn’t matter what you have done in the past, He longs to see you come to Him, to call His name, to believe in who He is, to ask forgiveness of your sins, and then to turn away from them.

If you ask, He will come into your life and change it radically.  He will transform you and work through you.  Oh…there is so much He wants to accomplish through you.

Psalms tells us to “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8)  This verse always makes me think of my efforts to entice my children to try a new food.  Taste and see….try it, you’ll like it…. We know how great that lobster dipped in drawn butter tastes….but convincing a child to “try it, you’ll like it” can be hard, and sometimes their stubbornness causes them to miss out on a tasty treat.

That is our Heavenly Father’s plea…  taste and see.  Don’t miss out on the amazing flavor God will add to your life when you place that life completely in His loving hands.

Aunt Chris and Uncle Quinton

Won’t you taste and see that the Lord is good???

Will you stop right where you are and ask Him to save your soul?  I guarantee it will be the best decision of your life.  It will not be easy, but you will be blessed and counted as a Son of God.
